Coastal

Tasked to do a complete remodel on this 11,000 sq.ft. home, the original home was a poorly designed and detailed nod towards Arts and Crafts style architecture built in the 1980s. The floor plan was oddly broken into two distinct blocks, connected by a poorly lit, narrow corridor. The effort was develop an exterior character that was cohesive, simple and elegant—reminiscent of east coast beach houses; We sought to create unique family specific task areas as well as open, large entertaining areas; and Integrate interior spaces with large outdoor entertaining and play spaces. Stained shingles, a metal roof, covered porches and terraces and a cupola create a modern, coastal look appropriate for the place and site.
